the beginning

Max Friedrich founded his liqueur manufactory in 1828. For decades he was entitled to use the lovely fresh orange flowers from the nearby orangery to produce his precious »Orange Bitter Likör«. The liqueur soon became famous all over Prussia and way beyond. German colonisation made it known all over the world. The orange bitter also found its way to the old courts: The Russian Tsar and the British Emperor praised its extra-ordinary sensation of bitter-sweet pleasure. In 1955 production had to be given up and the recipe was presumed lost. Today we want to revive the old tradition and put the liqueur back to its original place. There we can discover the taste.
